This is a dedicated space where we share the foundational protocols, guidelines and practices that shape how we engage with Indigenous students, faculty, staff and the wider Carleton community. Rooted in respect, relationality and responsibility, these resources support the university\u2019s commitments to Indigenous resurgence, cultural safety and meaningful collaboration.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"691\" data-end=\"712\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Here you will find:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Clear, culturally-grounded guidance for practices such as land acknowledgements, smudging and tobacco offering<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"956\" data-end=\"1182\">Policies that uphold the rights of Indigenous peoples to participate in spiritual, cultural and intellectual life at Carleton, including protections for traditional spiritual practices<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1185\" data-end=\"1419\">Practical protocols for working respectfully with Elders and Knowledge Keepers, and for ensuring Indigenous-specific opportunities (in hiring, awards, and teaching) maintain integrity and trust<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1185\" data-end=\"1419\">An acknowledgement that these are not static documents but living commitments, meant to guide our shared responsibility to foster belonging, honour Indigenous rights and support transformative learning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1627\" data-end=\"1967\">We encourage all members of the Carleton community, whether you are an Indigenous student, faculty or staff, a non-Indigenous ally, or a visitor to the Carleton campus, to engage with these policies. It will be used in conjunction with existing admissions requirements and procedures. In accordance with Section 14 of the Ontario Human Rights Code, some designated program seats and awards will be limited to Indigenous candidates (First Nation, M\u00e9tis and Inuit).<\/em><\/p>\n\n<div class=\"\">\n\t<p>\n\t\t<a class=\"button__red button__red--solid\" href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/indigenous\/policies-procedures\/policy-indigenous-attire-convocation\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Carleton University Policy Statement on Indigenous Attire at Convocation<\/a>\n\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<p><em>Want to wear your traditional regalia for graduation?
