Irvin Hill<\/p><\/div>\n

It is with sad hearts that the Centre for Indigenous Support and Community Engagement acknowledges the passing of Irvin Hill on March 10.<\/p>\n

Originally from Oneida Nation of the Thames,\u00a0Irvin worked at Carleton from 2004 to 2018 as an Indigenous Liaison Officer. He was beloved by colleagues and faculty, and especially loved by the thousands of Indigenous students that he worked tirelessly to support over his tenure at the Department of Equity Services.<\/p>\n

As a member of the Bear Clan, Irvin was known for his caring and protective nature, as well as his infectious laugh. He was instrumental in the creation of the first dedicated space on campus for Indigenous students and went above and beyond to ensure that all felt included and valued. Irvin\u2019s work at Carleton was critical in paving the way for the eventual creation of a separate Indigenous-led office for Indigenous support and engagement. He is loved dearly and will be missed deeply.<\/p>\n
