Program Timeline: Week of January 10th, 2022 – Week of May 2nd, 2022.

The Innovation Hub at Carleton University has returned with our second Changemaker Challenge. We have 30 exclusive spots open for students from every faculty on campus.

We want to give YOU the opportunity to create a BOLD and INNOVATIVE solution. Apply your academics. This dynamic and experiential learning environment will give you real-life tools and skills to stand in front of the world and prove your ideas are valuable.

This Changemaker Challenge will focus on producing community solutions (for Ontario, Ottawa, or Carleton University Campus) through the lens of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. We also have an incredible $10,000 prize purse for pitch competition winners.

Timeline and Student Journey:

Spanning an entire semester, our programming is flexible and caters to YOU. We have weekly 2-hour sessions with field/industry experts. We have an army of coaches and mentors to help you succeed. And don’t worry – this is not another classroom. These sessions offer some of the most unique and motivating ways to apply your academic learning in real-time.

Phase 1 = Personal Development and Communication Skills (January 10th – January 28th)

Phase 2 = Issue Identification, Entrepreneurial Leadership, and Solutions Scope (February 7th – April 1st)

Phase 3 = Expert Support Phase and Solution Refinement (April 4th – April 29th)

Phase 4 = Final Pitch Competition (May 2nd)

  • The challenge is open to all Carleton University students.
  • Build a diverse team OR work as an individual. We recommend working in a team or participating with the intention of finding a team.
  • Participants may be asked to submit documents to prove eligibility prior to awarding any prizes (e.g. identity document, proof of residency, student card, etc.).
