Student Challenges at the Innovation Hub

The Innovation Hub host’s a variety of student challenges and Hackathons through out the year that appeal to students from across all faculties.

Designed to inspire purposeful collisions, The Crunch is Ottawa’s latest interdisciplinary competition ignited by Algonquin College, Carleton University, and the University of Ottawa. Individuals can join solo or in a group to address challenges and gaps within any industry, including categories such as health innovation, social impact and pandemic recovery.

Over three days, participants will get to form teams; develop their business model; and pitch their business idea for a chance to win cash prizes. This event, held from November 18th to 20th, 2022, is ideal for anyone who is looking to create value while getting a first-hand look at life in a startup! This event is now FREE

Faculty of Science Entrepreneurship Kickstarter

Kick-Start Entrepreneurship & Innovation stream aims to allow students to develop an entrepreneurial mindset and connect with like-minded science students. Students will work in small groups to brainstorm, research, design, and present a new product that will positively impact the community. This program will help connect students with others who has similar interests in order for students to share their business concept and ideas thereby fostering a sense of community within the Faculty of Science.   

The Kick-Start Entrepreneurship & Innovation Stream will run during the second week of September for four weeks for an hour each session. Workshops will be Wednesdays from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm EDT on September 14th, 21st, 28th, and October 5th.
