Socio-economic development policies in India–Lessons (including for Canada)

Historical ties between India and Canada started in the late 19th century when Indians began to migrate to Canada. Two countries have a long lasting bilateral relationship since then. It was recently transformed to a strategic partnership in 2015. Both the countries continue to have partnership programmes between NGOs in order to bring changes to the quality of lives at the grass root level. Lessons learnt from each others success stories and mistakes would be mutually beneficial at this juncture. We will explore some of the key positive lessons learnt from India with a special focus on the changing sociocultural- economic dynamics in this emerging market economy.
