Registration | $250.00 | $275.00 |
The Workshop aims to initiate the conversation needed to drive the technological, economic and policy innovations required to de-carbonize heavy industry. As an incredibly diverse sector that is cost sensitive, the transition must be part of a coherent strategy that retains its competitiveness.
Over the course of two days, it will bring together public servants, industry, engineers, academics, non-governmental organizations, economists, business leaders, and Indigenous peoples to discuss the technological and policy changes that are possible.
Participants will hear keynote speakers, panel discussions, and presentations about the challenges and opportunities ahead. Moreover, through breakout sessions participants will actively contribute to the conversation as innovative ideas are shared and critiqued.
On Day One, participants will hear from panelists and keynote speakers in order to frame the issue of heavy industry de-carbonization. In defining the issue, participants will be presented a number of case studies of examples of examples in other countries, in order to grasp more fully the problems and possible solutions.
On Day Two, panelists will discuss the key actors involved and the courses of action available for achieving heavy industry de-carbonization. Using breakout sessions, participants will work in cross-sector groups and report back their various ideas, to discuss as a plenary panel and agree on the next steps.
