{"id":528,"date":"2014-07-13T13:36:50","date_gmt":"2014-07-13T17:36:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/irrg\/?page_id=528"},"modified":"2018-07-11T10:03:07","modified_gmt":"2018-07-11T14:03:07","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/irrg\/about\/","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In 2013, the Dean, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.carleton.ca\/engineering-design\/\">Faculty of Engineering and Design<\/a>, in collaboration with the Dean of Public Affairs established the Infrastructure Resilience Research Group (IRRG), to promote interdisciplinary knowledge-building initiatives regarding security and resilience pertaining to critical national infrastructure in an all-hazards environment. This includes initiatives related to threat assessments, managerial precepts and risk management solutions.<\/p>\n<p>The IRRG is an interdisciplinary unit attached to the office of the Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Design. Its mission is to build and share knowledge to ensure that expertise is in place to manage risks, mitigate potential damage, and ensure the resilience of critical infrastructure assets and networks. It delivers, among other activities, professional training programs related to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Critical Infrastructure Protection \/ Resilience<\/li>\n<li>Security, <\/li>\n<li>Risk Management,<\/li>\n<li>Damage Mitigation, and <\/li>\n<li>Resilience Planning.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Professional training courses are designed to meet the needs of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Policy Analysts,\n<li>Managers,\n<li>Front-Line Operators,\n<li>IT Engineers,\n<li>Cyber Security Officers, and\n<li>Executives.\n<\/ul>\n<p>IRRG issues appropriate certification to those completing professional training courses.
