Recently, there have been an increasing number of reports from Chinese citizens and foreign national about phone calls claiming to be from Chinese embassies and consulates.  In many cases, the phone numbers appear to be similar to those of Chinese embassies or consulates.  In light of this, please be reminded that these calls are NOT made by Chinese embassies or consulates.

If you receive a suspected scam call, contact the local Chinese Embassy or Consulate.  If you suffered financial loss, report to the local police immediately.  If you are Chinese citizen, you should also report to the police in China.
