The ISSO invites all international students to join Intercultural Programming Coordinator Niamh O’Shea and International Student Counsellor Berak Hussain for the Navigating Your Social Transition to Canada & Carleton workshop! The session is designed to share strategies and resources to help navigate the unique factors impacting loneliness and isolation for international students during COVID-19.

Student engagement with peers and online interaction is one of the most important factors to protect against loneliness and isolation during the winter lockdown. The ISSO will be hosting sessions to facilitate engagement with fellow international and exchange students to discuss and share skills and coping strategies to help you get through the season. The interactive workshop is specifically designed for new and returning international students residing in and outside of Canada. Students can register on the ISSO Events page.

The sessions are scheduled for:

February 2 from 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm EST: intended for students currently residing inside of Canada.

February 4 from 9:00 am – 10:30 am EST: intended for students currently residing outside of Canada.
