Opting Out

All students can choose to opt out of the U-Pass (transit) program for winter 2021. For a step-by-step guide on how to opt-out of the U-Pass, please click on the link. Students who plan to opt out should not pick up or renew their U-Pass.

Returning your U-Pass

If you are no longer eligible for the program and have a valid card (you picked up or renewed your U-Pass any time since August 2020), you must return your U-Pass. To receive a pro-rated credit, return your card to the Campus Card Office (407 UC).

In Person: You do not need an appointment – please use the drop slot any time the University Centre is open (Mon-Fri, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm). You will receive a confirmation email within three business days.

  • Please note the most current building updates and access protocols before coming to campus.  You will be screened before entering the University Centre, and the CU Mask Policy is in effect.

By Mail: You can return your U-Pass by mail at your risk, however your refund will not be processed until your card is received. Please expect delays, which will impact your final refund.

If you cannot return your U-Pass, please email upass@carleton.caand alternative arrangements can be made
