We will only communicate with you via your Carleton email account so please make sure to continue to monitor it while you are abroad. You may also consider forwarding your Carleton cmail address to a frequently used email account so that you don’t miss out on any important/urgent information.
- Submit Certificates to CU Travel Registry

1. Certificate of Arrival at the Host Institution
All outgoing exchange students must have the Certificate of Arrival completed and signed by the exchange coordinator at their host institution within 2 weeks of their arrival. The completed form must be uploaded as part of your CU Travel Registry on Carleton Central.
2. Certificate of Departure from the Host Institution
All outgoing exchange students must have the Certificate of Departure completed and signed by the exchange coordinator at their host institution prior to their departure at the end of their study term. The completed form must be uploaded as part of your CU Travel Registry on Carleton Central.

In case of an emergency while out of country, students should contact the following authorities, as appropriate:
- Contact your local Embassy or Consulate. Canadian citizens can use the Government of Canada’s Canadian Embassy/Consulate directory.
- Canadian citizens can also access emergency consular assistance while abroad by emailing sos@international.gc.ca or calling +1 (613) 996-8885
- Speak to the contact person at your host institution
- Contact the Exchange Team at the International Student Services Office by email at exchange@carleton.ca or by phone at +1 (613) 520-6600
In the case of an emergency situation, try and contact your family members at home as soon as possible and let them know that you are safe. We also ask that you contact Carleton’s Campus Safety Office at +1 (613) 520-4444 to confirm your safety.
