My Ottawa Recommendations: If the weather is too cold, spend a quiet afternoon in one of the large variety of museums and galleries that Ottawa has to offer. From the National Gallery of Arts to the Canada Science and Technology Museum, there are interesting exhibits year-round. If you look for something unique, Byward Market is the place for you. The large variety of vendors and restaurants offer something for everyone. If you ever need to destress from the hustle and bustle of daily life, take a stroll along the Rideau Canal. You can even skate on it in the winter.

Advice for New International Students: Don’t limit all your time to just being on Carleton’s campus, spend some time exploring all that Ottawa has to offer. As Canada’s capital, Ottawa is a diverse and exciting city with festivals and events year-round. There are always new adventures around every corner. The transition to Carleton may feel challenging, but always remember that there is a support network behind you, so never hesitate to reach out.
