Program: Health Sciences, with a double concentration in Biomedical Sciences and Global Health

Year of Study: 3rd year

Places I Call Home: Zimbabwe and South Africa

Campus Involvement: First Year Connections Mentor, PASS Facilitator, intramural sports on campus, semi-competitive volleyball, and occasionally attending the salsa dancing club and events by the African Students’ Association.

Hobbies: Playing piano, drawing, and exploring new places, restaurants, and cultures.

Best part of being in Ottawa: I love Ottawa for its cultural diversity and bilingualism. My favourite places include: the museums, art galleries, Gatineau park, Oh So Good Café and Kettleman’s Bagels.

Advice for New International Students: Get involved in the Carleton community as much as you can, the sooner the better. Many of my closest friends aren’t from my classes but from my extracurricular activities and living on residence. The transition to Carleton may be overwhelming but we are here to help you and there are many resources available to you. Your experience at Carleton is going to be what you make of it.
