As part of the ITS Security policies, MyCarletonOne users must change their password once per term. This Summer term, some MyCarleton One (MC1) accounts were locked out due to the password change period elapsing without notifying the user. The process which sends out email notifications of impending password expiry failed for some users. We apologize for the inconvenience and are currently working on resolving the issue to prevent this from happening again.
The resolution is to go to https://myone.carleton.ca , either from a colleague’s computer, public workstation or another device, enter your MC1 username in the User ID field and click on the Forgot Password link. You will then be prompted to answer your security questions that you defined during the initial setup of your MC1 account. Once at least 3 of these questions are successfully answered you will be prompted to create a new password which will also unlock your account.
To change your password before it expires:
- Forget the CU-Wireless or eduroam wireless connection on all wireless devices.
- Log in to https://myone.carleton.ca and click on the ‘MyPassword’ tab.
- Enter a new password and re-enter to confirm.
- Click save.
- Restart your computer.
- Enter your new MyCarletonOne password into your wireless devices before reconnecting to the network.
Once complete you will use your new MyCarletonOne password to access Banner, CUNET, cuLearn and MyCarleton Portal.
