Access a Shared Mailbox in Outlook Web App (Webmail)<\/h2>\n

These instructions explain how to access a shared mailbox using Outlook Web App (OWA)<\/strong> so that it appears in the left navigation pane each time you sign in.<\/p>\n

Note:<\/strong>
\nYou must already have permission to access the shared mailbox before it will appear or be added.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Add a Shared Mailbox to Outlook Web App<\/h2>\n
    \n
  1. Sign in to Outlook Web App<\/strong> using your staff email address:
    \nMC1username@cunet.carleton.ca<\/code><\/li>\n
  2. In the left navigation pane, right-click Folders<\/strong> under your primary mailbox.<\/li>\n
  3. Select Add shared folder or mailbox<\/strong>.\"\"<\/li>\n
  4. In the Add shared folder or mailbox<\/strong> dialog box:\n
      \n
    • Enter the name or email address<\/strong> of the shared mailbox
      \n(for example: departmentname@cunet.carleton.ca<\/code>)<\/li>\n
    • Select Add<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
    • The shared mailbox and its folders will now appear in the left navigation pane<\/strong> whenever you open Outlook Web App.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Sign In Directly to a Shared Mailbox (Optional)<\/h2>\n

      You may also sign in directly to a shared mailbox using the following format:<\/p>\n

      https:\/\/outlook.office.com\/owa/mailboxname@cunet.carleton.ca\r\n<\/code><\/pre>\n
      When prompted:<\/p>\n

      • Authenticate using your staff username@cunet.carleton.ca<\/strong><\/li>\n
      • Complete multi\u2011factor authentication (Azure MFA)<\/strong> if required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Send Email From a Shared Mailbox (Webmail)<\/h2>\n
          \n
        1. Select New mail<\/strong> above the folder list.<\/li>\n
        2. In the new message window, open the Options<\/strong> menu.<\/li>\n
        3. Enable Show From<\/strong>.\"\"<\/li>\n
        4. Select the shared mailbox from the From<\/strong> drop-down list.<\/li>\n
