As there are many\u00a0 features and capabilities within the Lyris ListManager, it is recommended that you reference the on-line help. You can simply click on the\u00a0\"help\" on some of the screens within the\u00a0Lyris Listserv\u00a0application or go directly to the Lyris Online Help Manual<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Add an administrator<\/h2>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>A server administrator or a list administrator (owner)\u00a0can add another member as list administrator. A list can have more than one list administrator and every list administrator can have\u00a0their own password.<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Log onto the list (https:\/\/lists.carleton.ca\/<\/a>):<\/li>\n
  2. Go to the \u2018Utilities\u2019 tab<\/li>\n
  3. Click on the \u2018Administration\u2019 link<\/li>\n
  4. Then select the \u2018Administrator\u2019 and then \u2018List Administrators\u2019 links<\/li>\n
  5. Click on \u201cCreate new Administrator\u201d button\u00a0\"\"<\/li>\n
  6. From the \u2018Basics\u2019 tab, type in the email address and name of the person.\u00a0 Email address format is \u201d\u00a0firstname.lastname@carleton.ca \u201d\u00a0(all lowercase)<\/li>\n
  7. Type in a password for the person and then type it again to confirm<\/li>\n
  8. Click on the \u2018List Administrator\u2019 tab, first 3 bullets should say YES, the 4th bullet NO, and the last bullet YES.<\/li>\n
  9. No changes are required to other tabs<\/li>\n
  10. Click on the \u201cSave\u201d button.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Add multiple members to a list<\/h2>\n

    As a List Administrator, you can add multiple members to the list.<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Select the list\u00a0(https:\/\/lists.carleton.ca\/<\/a>):<\/li>\n
    2. Click on the \u201cMembers\u201d tab<\/li>\n
    3. Click on \u201cAdd Members\u201d<\/li>\n
    4. Click on \u201cAdd Many Members\u201d<\/li>\n
    5. A new window will appear; here you will be able to type in multiple members email addresses.\u00a0 (Names are not added with this form, only email addresses).\u00a0\"\"<\/li>\n
    6. Once all of the addresses have been added, click on \u201cSave\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      \u00a0I<\/strong>mport Members from a Text File<\/h2>\n

      This is the easiest technique to upload a large number of members into a list.\u00a0 The file must be a straight text file, a spreadsheet or word documents are not accepted.<\/p>\n

      From within the Lyris list web interface (https:\/\/lists.carleton.ca\/<\/a>):<\/p>\n

        \n
      1. Click on the \u201cMembers\u201d tab<\/li>\n
      2. Click on \u201cAdd Members\u201d<\/li>\n
      3. Click on \u201cImport Members from a Text File\u201d\u00a0\"\"<\/li>\n
      4. Click on the \u201cChoose File\u201d button and then find and select the file to be uploaded from your computer or directory where the file is located.<\/li>\n
      5. Leave all other fields as the \u201cdefault\u201d \u2013 no changes required<\/li>\n
      6. Click the \u201cImport\u201d button to import the addresses into your list<\/li>\n
      7. Click on the\u00a0to get context sensitive \u201chelp\u201d for the format of the text file, see examples below:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        bob@example.com
        \nbob@example.com Bob Shelby
        \nbob@example.com (Bob Shelby)
        \nBob Shelby
        \nIn this format, the email addresses and names will be added as listed.<\/p>\n

        Import Members from a Spreadsheet<\/h2>\n

        From within the Lyris list web interface (https:\/\/lists.carleton.ca\/<\/a>):<\/p>\n

        1. Click on the \u201cMembers\u201d tab<\/li>\n
        2. Click on \u201cAdd Member\u201d<\/li>\n
        3. Click on \u201cImport Members from a CSV File\u201d\u00a0\"\"<\/li>\n
        4. Click on the \u201cChoose File\u201d button and then find and select the file to be uploaded from your computer or directory where the file is located.<\/li>\n
        5. Leave all other fields as the \u201cdefault\u201d \u2013 no changes required<\/li>\n
        6. Click on the \u201cImport\u201d button to import the addresses into your list
          \nAn example of one format of a file is as follows:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          EmailAddr_,FullName_,Company,Phone

          Delete a List<\/h2>\n
