This means the Self Enrolment Phase has ended,<\/strong> at which point students will be required to click <em>Next<\/em> and set up MFA before accessing Carleton services. Details about how to set up MFA are covered in the remainder of this page.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> If the Self Enrolment Phase has ended and a student urgently needs to log into a Carleton service, they can request an exception by contacting the <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/its\/contact\/\">ITS Service Desk<\/a>. In this scenario, the student in question would be required to set up MFA at a later time.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p><\/dd><dl><\/div>\n<div class=\"slideme\"><dl class=\"slideme__list\"><dt class=\"slideme__term\"><a href=\"#slideme-mfa-enforcement\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"slideme-mfa-enforcement\" class=\"slideme__heading slideme__trigger\">MFA Enforcement<\/a><\/dt><dd class=\"slideme__description\" id=\"slideme-mfa-enforcement\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><p><\/p>\n<h2>\u00a0MFA Enforcement<\/h2>\n<p>Students who have exhausted the 14-day grace period will encounter a prompt that should match the screenshot below. Download the app on your phone to proceed.<\/li>\n<li>Once you have downloaded the app, return to your browser window and click <em>Next<\/em> to proceed to the screen below.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img Instead of typing a password or entering a code, you just <strong>use your face, fingerprint, or device PIN<\/strong> to confirm it\u2019s really you.<\/p>\n<p>A Private key is stored in a passkey provider\u2019s cloud and synced across devices that the user is signed into, examples:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Apple iCloud Keychain<br \/>\n\u2022 Google Password Manager<\/p>\n<p>Benefits are if you have replaced your phone, if you sign into the new phone with the same iCloud\/Google account that you setup your Passkey with, you would have access to the passkey and your M365 (Cmail\/OneDrive) accounts.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Configure a synced Passkey<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The site to manage your sign in options is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/aka.ms\/mysecurityinfo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">aka.ms\/mysecurityinfo<\/a>.
