{"id":268,"date":"2016-11-07T13:53:48","date_gmt":"2016-11-07T18:53:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/its\/help-centre\/?page_id=268"},"modified":"2026-04-21T10:43:01","modified_gmt":"2026-04-21T14:43:01","slug":"add-a-shared-mailbox","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/its\/help-centre\/add-a-shared-mailbox\/","title":{"rendered":"Add a Shared Mailbox"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A\u00a0<strong>Shared Mailbox<\/strong> is a mailbox that <strong>multiple<\/strong> users can use to read and send\/receive email messages, it can serve as a common repository for a departmental email address. \u00a0It can also contain folders and sub-folders, which everyone with access to the Shared Mailbox can save to or read.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding: 12px; border: 6px solid red; font-size: 14;\"><strong>Note<\/strong>:\u00a0 Cmail accounts <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>can not<\/strong> <\/span>access a shared mailbox, you must have a Staff @cunet <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/its\/help-centre\/new-account-process\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">email account<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Shared Mailboxes are created on request to the <a href=\"https:\/\/itsjira.carleton.ca\/servicedesk\/customer\/portal\/5\/create\/685\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ITS Service Desk<\/a>.
