Refer to Microsoft&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/support.office.com\/en-us\/article\/uninstall-office-from-a-pc-9dd49b83-264a-477a-8fcc-2fdf5dbf61d8?ui=en-US&amp;rs=en-US&amp;ad=US\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">support article<\/a> for assistance.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"slideme\"><dl class=\"slideme__list\"><dt class=\"slideme__term\"><a href=\"#slideme-steps-to-get-office-m365\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"slideme-steps-to-get-office-m365\" class=\"slideme__heading slideme__trigger\">Steps to Get Office M365<\/a><\/dt><dd class=\"slideme__description\" id=\"slideme-steps-to-get-office-m365\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Go to the <a href=\"https:\/\/portal.office.com\/account\/?ref=Harmony\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">M365 portal<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Sign in using your Carleton email address (in the following format <strong>&#x66;&#105;r&#x73;&#116;n&#x61;&#109;e&#x6c;&#97;s&#x74;&#110;a&#x6d;&#x65;&#64;&#x63;&#x6d;&#97;&#x69;&#x6c;&#46;&#x63;&#x61;&#114;l&#x65;&#116;o&#x6e;&#46;c&#x61;<\/strong>) and password.<\/li>\n<li>Click on the &#8216;<strong>Install Office&#8217; <\/strong>button, this will download the install file.\u00a0 Once downloaded open the file and follow the onscreen instructions.\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-3430\" src=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/its\/help-centre\/wp-content\/uploads\/M365install-400x184.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"184\" srcset=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/its\/help-centre\/wp-content\/uploads\/M365install-400x184.png 400w, https:\/\/carleton.ca\/its\/help-centre\/wp-content\/uploads\/M365install-240x110.png 240w, https:\/\/carleton.ca\/its\/help-centre\/wp-content\/uploads\/M365install-160x74.png 160w, https:\/\/carleton.ca\/its\/help-centre\/wp-content\/uploads\/M365install-360x165.png 360w, https:\/\/carleton.ca\/its\/help-centre\/wp-content\/uploads\/M365install.png 407w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong>: Microsoft also offers students <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/its\/supported\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">additional services<\/a> to holders of Microsoft 365 email addresses, while they maintain student status.<\/p>\n<p><\/p><\/dd><dl><\/div>\n<div class=\"slideme\"><dl class=\"slideme__list\"><dt class=\"slideme__term\"><a href=\"#slideme-access-office-m365-online\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"slideme-access-office-m365-online\" class=\"slideme__heading slideme__trigger\">Access Office M365 Online<\/a><\/dt><dd class=\"slideme__description\" id=\"slideme-access-office-m365-online\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><p><\/p>\n<p>To access the <strong>web-based versions<\/strong> of the Office applications, which offer many of the same features visit <a href=\"https:\/\/myapplications.microsoft.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>myapplications.microsoft.com<\/strong><\/a> and sign in with your cmail address and password.<\/p>\n<p><\/p><\/dd><dl><\/div>\n<div class=\"slideme\"><dl class=\"slideme__list\"><dt class=\"slideme__term\"><a href=\"#slideme-student-m365-licenses-are-removed-upon-graduation\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"slideme-student-m365-licenses-are-removed-upon-graduation\" class=\"slideme__heading slideme__trigger\">Student M365 licenses are removed upon graduation<\/a><\/dt><dd class=\"slideme__description\" id=\"slideme-student-m365-licenses-are-removed-upon-graduation\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><p><\/p>\n<p><strong>To prevent loss of data, steps should be taken to retrieve or backup items stored in repositories like OneDrive and Teams<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>What Services Are Affected?<\/h3>\n<p>When you become an alumna\/alumnus you will lose access to the Microsoft Office suite, OneDrive and Teams services originally provided by Carleton.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore,\u00a0<strong>any data you have stored in OneDrive and\/or Teams will be deleted by Microsoft.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>How Can You Retain Access to Affected Services?<\/h3>\n<p>Microsoft offers\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/can01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=http%3A%2F%2Flists.carleton.ca%2Ft%2F666817%2F14808497%2F20060%2F2%2F&amp;data=05%7C02%7CITSServiceDesk%40Cunet.Carleton.Ca%7Cbd311602af0b4e47c7b608dc9ad18d2a%7C6ad91895de06485ebc51fce126cc8530%7C0%7C0%7C638555472013678301%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=4JUjMOz7pdV6cuGXQ0hNPGfiuyCW2UsE3ffpQ7x1UNg%3D&amp;reserved=0\">several paid M365 plans<\/a> for personal and family use that offer access to the Microsoft Office suite, OneDrive, Teams and more. If you subscribe to one of these plans before your access is lost, you can transfer that data to your new plan.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, if you re-enroll in an academic program at Carleton, your Cmail account will once again be provisioned with the affected services listed above.<\/p>\n<h3>What Services Are Unaffected?<\/h3>\n<p>There will be no change to your Carleton email.
