Carleton uses Exchange Online to provide email services for staff\/faculty and students.<\/p>\n<h4>Uses of OneDrive<\/h4>\n<div class=\"columns__two\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Insurance<\/strong>: If your computer breaks or is stolen, access the files that were online as well as those in your sync\u2019d folder, from any replacement computer\/phone\/tablet.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Out-of-Office Access<\/strong>: files stored in OneDrive are accessible from any other computer. e.g. home computer<\/li>\n<li><strong>Collaborate<\/strong>: Share a document or folder with another\u00a0<strong>OneDrive <\/strong>user, including real-time joint editing<\/li>\n<li><strong>Keep work files separate from personal files<\/strong>: keep\u00a0your Carleton work files on<strong>\u00a0OneDrive for Business<\/strong>, separate from any\u00a0<em>personal<\/em> OneDrive, DropBox, or Google Docs accounts you may have.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Replacement for P-drive<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Non-optimal uses for OneDrive<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Large team collaboration<br \/>\nWhen more than a few people are contributing to a collaborative file site, it&#8217;s very useful to supplement updating files and folders with online notes, email update notices, revision history.<br \/>\nSome tools to consider:<br \/>\n&#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/cucollab\">carleton.ca\/cuCollab<\/a><br \/>\n&#8211; Office 365 Teams (<a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/teams\">in pilot)<\/a><br \/>\n&#8211; Intranet websites (a service of <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/cms\">carleton.ca\/cms<\/a>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Workshop Objectives &gt; OneDrive Uses &gt; Enable OneDrive What is OneDrive?
