monitoring, coordination &amp; communication, mentorship &amp; guidance, and the provision of tools &amp; resources.<\/p>\n<h3>Our Role<\/h3>\n<div class=\"slideme\"><dl class=\"slideme__list\"><dt class=\"slideme__term\"><a href=\"#slideme-standardization-monitoring\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"slideme-standardization-monitoring\" class=\"slideme__heading slideme__trigger\">Standardization &amp; Monitoring<\/a><\/dt><dd class=\"slideme__description\" id=\"slideme-standardization-monitoring\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><p>\n<p>Enable consistent project performance across the enterprise by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Establishing and continually evolving the ITS Project Delivery Process that is aligned with industry standard methodologies<\/li>\n<li>Increasing\u00a0efficiency by implementing tools, methods and organizational governance<\/li>\n<li>Gathering consistent, relevant and accurate data on information systems projects for strategic planning purposes, resource optimization and process improvements<\/li>\n<li>Monitoring project progress and execution, and\u00a0facilitating where required in order to ensure project success<\/li>\n<li>Staying abreast of industry best practices and ensuring the ITS Project Delivery Process remains aligned with these processes when considered applicable<\/p><\/dd><dl><\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"slideme\"><dl class=\"slideme__list\"><dt class=\"slideme__term\"><a href=\"#slideme-coordination-communication\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"slideme-coordination-communication\" class=\"slideme__heading slideme__trigger\">Coordination &amp; Communication<\/a><\/dt><dd class=\"slideme__description\" id=\"slideme-coordination-communication\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><p>\n<p>Monitor and report on projects from an enterprise view in order to facilitate strategic project portfolio management by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensuring project prioritizations follow the University\u2019s strategic themes<\/li>\n<li>Overseeing project personnel and budget allocations in order to align resources with established targets<\/li>\n<li>Establishing an effective resource allocation strategy to make short and long term fiscal planning possible<\/li>\n<li>Communicating progress of information systems projects to operational managers and stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Championing a customer-centric focus by developing client partnerships and collaboration<\/p><\/dd><dl><\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"slideme\"><dl class=\"slideme__list\"><dt class=\"slideme__term\"><a href=\"#slideme-mentorship-guidance\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"slideme-mentorship-guidance\" class=\"slideme__heading slideme__trigger\">Mentorship &amp; Guidance<\/a><\/dt><dd class=\"slideme__description\" id=\"slideme-mentorship-guidance\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><p>\n<p>Advise on best practices, and assist Project Managers to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Define project requirements and build viable project plans<\/li>\n<li>Develop and maintain realistic project schedules and budgets<\/li>\n<li>Evaluate and address project scope change requests<\/li>\n<li>Analyze and mitigate risks<\/li>\n<li>Incorporate quality assurance measures into project execution<\/li>\n<li>Measure and report on project status<\/li>\n<li>Disseminate project information to all stakeholders<\/p><\/dd><dl><\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"slideme\"><dl class=\"slideme__list\"><dt class=\"slideme__term\"><a href=\"#slideme-provision-of-tools-resources\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"slideme-provision-of-tools-resources\" class=\"slideme__heading slideme__trigger\">Provision of Tools &amp; Resources<\/a><\/dt><dd class=\"slideme__description\" id=\"slideme-provision-of-tools-resources\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><p>\n<p>Make available convenient access to a pool of information, reference material, and training for Project Managers including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Document repository of project data comprised of relevant project documents, status reports and lessons learned<\/li>\n<li>Process checklists, document templates, reference documentation<\/li>\n<li>Training on the ITS Project Delivery Process<\/li>\n<li>Project benchmarking with other projects and\/or industry best practices<\/p><\/dd><dl><\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Our\u00a0Conduct<\/h3>\n<p>As practitioners of project management, the Project Management Office abides by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pmi.org\/about\/ethics\/guidelines\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PMI Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct<\/a> in all of our professional interactions. \u00a0This Code from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pmi.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Project Management Institute<\/a> outlines stringent standards\u00a0in the areas of <em>Responsibility<\/em>, <em>Respect<\/em>, <em>Fairness<\/em> and <em>Honesty<\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Project Management Office (PMO) is accountable for managing strategic information systems projects and serves as a platform for managing the change necessary to deliver projects and initiatives in a timely and efficient manner.
