Update as of July 8:<\/p>\n

Last week ITS made changes to our VPN service, split-tunneling was turned on to increase capacity and improve performance for video conferencing, a subset of MAC<\/u> users may experience a problem in MS Teams because of this.<\/p>\n

Problem<\/strong>: Mac users connected to the VPN using the native Mac VPN client can experience \u201c fail to send\u201d Chat messages in MS Teams.<\/p>\n

Immediate workaround<\/strong>: Dropping the VPN connection solves the problem.<\/p>\n

Fix<\/strong>: Delete their Mac VPN configuration and re-add as per:\u00a0carleton.ca\/its\/help-centre\/remote-access\/vpn-for-mac-osx\/<\/a>\u00a0and their VPN client will now be \u201csplit-tunneling aware.”<\/p>\n

Users can also download the Cisco AnyConnect VPN client https:\/\/cuvpn.carleton.ca\/<\/a> to resolve the issue.<\/p>\n

As of July 6:\u00a0 Once connected to VPN, Mac users cannot send Microsoft Teams chat messages.\u00a0 The result is an error message stating: “Failed to Send”.\u00a0 If VPN connection is dropped, message functionality resumes.<\/p>\n
