What is this service?

This service provides the capability for faculty and staff to print documents throughout Carleton’s Campus. It consists of:

  • Departmental, networked printers – accessible to Faculty and Staff
  • Volume printing and binding – delivered via The Print Shop.
  • Individual desktop printers and scanners – support varies by department and faculty from minimal to none.

Pricing

  • Unrestricted departmental, networked printers – accessible to Faculty and Staff w/o charge
    (There is a monthly rental charge to the department from The Print Shop, Contact Details)
  • Restricted (Swipe card) departmental, networked printers: accessible to Faculty, Staff, Research groups by swipe card
    (These are arranged through The Print Shop, Contact Details )
  • Per-job charge: Volume printing and binding – delivered via The Print Shop, Contact Details
  • Individual desktop printers – Contact your Faculty IT representative below. Support varies by department and faculty from minimal to none.

What is included?

  • Standard Features:
    • Staff and Faculty access to network printers
    • Routine maintenance for network printers
    • Purchase and installation of colour cartridges and installation of black cartridges for network printers
  • Non-Standard Features:
    • Printing/copying in colour
    • Availability of multi-functional machines that print one-sided or two-sided (duplex) documents as well as copy, staple, and collate documents
    • Installation of restricted-access printers for specific business units
    • Varies by department and faculty
      • Installation and support for individual desktop printers and/or scanners: minimal to no support; varies by department and faculty
      • Ink for individual desktop printers: minimal to no support; varies by department and faculty
    • Available via The Print Shop:
      • Print job consultation from the initial design stage (type, layout, graphics and illustration)
      • High speed Black and White and Color digital printing
      • High volume photocopying
      • Document reduction or enlargement
      • Document lamination
      • Document binding
  • Service Exclusions:
    • Home printers
