The Zelikovitz Centre hires Work Study students each year. The following positions are currently open. Carleton University students can apply through Carleton Central (Awards & Financial Assistance, Undergraduate Online Application Forms, Other Financial Aid Applications: Work Study).


Position Title: General Communications Coordinator (5 hours/week)
Number of Positions: 1
Compensation: $15.00/hour + $2.00/hour + 4% vacation pay
Location of work: From home

The Communication Coordinator works with the Director and Associate Director as well as the ZC Social Media Co-ordinator. The successful candidate will manage and maintain the Zelikovitz Centre-affiliated websites: www.carleton.ca/jewishstudies, and www.carleton.ca/studyisrael. All websites are run using wordpress. In addition, the skills and knowledge for hosting zoom seminars, webinars and lectures is required. English language skills are necessary as on occasion the Communication Coordinator is required to write up reports on ZC events for the ZC webpages/ newsletter. All aspects of this position can be done remotely.

Some knowledge of Judaism, and the Ottawa Jewish community is an asset.


Position Title: Cataloguing and Reference Assistant (10 hours/week)
Number of Positions: 1
Compensation: $15.00/hour + $2.00/hour + 4% vacation pay
Location of work: ZC library at Carleton University

This position requires the successful candidate to work on campus. The Zelikovitz Centre is in the process of curating its library for more efficient access for its affiliates and other scholars. The person in this position would be responsible for completing the library inventory and liaising with George Duimovich, MacOdrum Library, Collections Librarian (Science, Engineering, & Design Team) with Research Support Services.

Some knowledge of Judaism is an asset.


Position Title: General Administrative Assistant (5 hours/week)
Number of Positions: 1
Compensation: $15.00/hour + $2.00/hour + 4% vacation pay
Location: Off Campus

The work required of this position can be done remotely (from home). This position requires someone with good research skills, and the ability to assist with online events (ZOOM). This individual also checks telephone messages, and does smaller tasks, such as ensuring audio-visuals work for upcoming events, and any other tasks that an event might require.
