Carolyn joined the Zelicovitz Centre as the Developing Future Leaders (DFL) Facilitator in 2016. She brings 25 years of business experience to the position as owner of Purewater Total Home Leisure, where she specializes in staff training and management. She has been a long time volunteer and leader in her industry, as well as in the Jewish Community in Ottawa.
As DFL Facilitator, Carolyn runs the 4 training sessions that the DFL interns attend throughout the year. She teaches the interns key business strategies to succeed at their internship, as well as guide them through a fundraising project. Each year, a local Jewish organization that does not have a DFL intern is selected by the group. Funds are then raised by an event, a peer to peer campaign, and a guided “big ask” campaign. Over $3000 was raised for Shalom Bayit in 2017. The group hopes for even better numbers this year, raising funds for the JFS Walk-In Counselling Clinic.
