Given the rise of antisemitism in Canada, education has become the most commonly used tools for combating antisemitism. \u00a0While one of the key goals of antisemitism education is to address ignorance, this talk focuses on the social and emotional elements of antisemitism. \u00a0Hollinger\u2019s research demonstrates, that to be effective, Holocaust education must affect people by creating emotional resonance with and relation to the material and Jewish stories.\u00a0Learn how stories, immersive experiences, and perspective-taking are key to affecting hearts and minds in the fight against antisemitism within an academic setting.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bio:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Megan Hollinger\u2019s doctoral research explored social and community strategies to combat antisemitism in Canada. Hollinger has taught about the Holocaust at Carleton University and is currently offering a course about antisemitism and Canadian Jewry at the University of Ottawa. Dr. Hollinger was a Scholar\u2011In\u2011Residence at the ISGAP Oxford Summer Institute for the Development of Curriculum in Critical Antisemitism Studies\u00a0 in 2023 and was also an Ian Stewart Graduate Fellow at the University of Victoria\u2019s Centre for Studies in Religion and Society that same year. Dr. Hollinger is currently the Acting Assistant Director at Carleton University&#8217;s Max and Tessie Zelikovitz Centre for Jewish Studies.<\/p>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\">var
