W. Raymond Palmer, PhD, is an independent researcher (in Modern Jewish History and the Holocaust) and owner of a small Historical and Genealogical research business.<\/p>\n
In 2017, he was awarded a 3-month fellowship at Yad Vashem to conduct research for a book on the activities of the London Office of the World Jewish Congress relating to the Holocaust and its aftermath. Towards the end of his fellowship at Yad Vashem, he was invited to give a lecture on his research. His lecture, “The Rescue Work of the British Section of the World Jewish Congress: A Case Study”, International Institute for Holocaust Research, Yad Vashem, Jerusalem, Israel, 14 December 2017, will eventually be a part of his larger historical perspective on the activities of the British section of the World Jewish Congress.<\/p>\n
More recently, Ray was awarded the 2018 Lowenstein-Wiener Fellowship at the Jacob Rader Marcus Center of the American Jewish Archives, where he researched the role of Rabbi Maurice L. Perlzweig in relation to the World Jewish Congress, “Rabbi Maurice L. Perlzweig and the Development of the British Section of the World Jewish Congress, 1936-1940”. In 2020, he received funding from the Memorial Foundation for Jewish Culture to support his continuing research on the World Jewish Congress’ British Section.<\/p>\n
