You will be prompted with the message &#8220;<em>Are you sure you want to stop this recording?<\/em>&#8220;. Click &#8220;<em>yes, stop it<\/em>&#8221; to end your recording.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li>After you stop your recording you will be directed to the\u00a0<strong>Entry<\/strong>\u00a0page where you need to enter the following information:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Title of the recording<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Description<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Tags<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Select one of the following options:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Delete<\/strong> to delete your entry.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Save and Upload<\/strong> to upload to MediaSpace.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Save<\/strong>\u00a0to save to your local library only. You will be able to <a href=\"#upload-later\">upload to MediaSpace at a later time.<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>New recording<\/strong> to do another recording (you will be prompted with a confirmation that you indeed want to leave without saving your previous recording).<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1986 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/kaltura\/wp-content\/uploads\/kaltura-capture-save.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"768\" height=\"575\" srcset=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/kaltura\/wp-content\/uploads\/kaltura-capture-save.png 768w, https:\/\/carleton.ca\/kaltura\/wp-content\/uploads\/kaltura-capture-save-160x120.png 160w, https:\/\/carleton.ca\/kaltura\/wp-content\/uploads\/kaltura-capture-save-240x180.png 240w, https:\/\/carleton.ca\/kaltura\/wp-content\/uploads\/kaltura-capture-save-400x299.png 400w, https:\/\/carleton.ca\/kaltura\/wp-content\/uploads\/kaltura-capture-save-360x270.png 360w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0An upload progress bar is displayed and a successful upload message appears when the upload is complete.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>NOTES:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>By default, an uploaded media item is set as private \u2013 only the owner of the media can access and view it. You need to either <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/kaltura\/mediaspace\/manage-your-media\/publish-your-media\/\">publish your media to share it<\/a>\u00a0or <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/kaltura\/mediaspace\/manage-your-media\/embed-media-into-culearn\/\">embed it into cuLearn<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/kaltura\/embed-media-into-brightspace\/\">embed it into D2L Brightspace<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>When you save a recording without uploading to MediaSpace, you will be taken to your Kaltura library and have the options to upload or delete your media.<\/li>\n<li>If you are experiencing issues uploading your Kaltura Personal Capture recording to MediaSpace, pleases visit our <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/kaltura\/where-to-get-help\/\">Where to Get Help support page<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Kaltura Capture will not show the webcam as you record<\/h2>\n<p>Kaltura Capture will not show the webcam as you record your desktop. Kaltura Capture requires that you set up the screen recording options before you begin recording. You can configure and preview your webcam at this time. During the recording, though, your webcam will<strong> not<\/strong> appear on screen. Additionally, you will not have the option to toggle the webcam on and off as you record during dual source recordings. A dual source recording is when a user selects more than one source to record simultaneously. One example of a dual source recording would be if the user selected their desktop and their webcam to be recorded at the same time.<\/p>\n<p>Even though Kaltura integrates the two visual sources after it&#8217;s done encoding the video, the viewer can always decide between which different view to watch. In other words, your audience can decide between different viewing experiences as they watch the recoding. For more information on Kaltura&#8217;s video player, please visit our <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/kaltura\/mediaspace\/the-kaltura-media-player\/\">Video Player<\/a> support site.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Recording Tips<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Do a test recording a few days in advance of when you need it. This ensures you have sufficient time for troubleshooting in the event that your computer, Internet, or technical skills require extra attention.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct a short test recording each and every time you sit down to record.<\/li>\n<li>Exit any unnecessary applications and browser tabs. These all use RAM that may be required by the recording application.<\/li>\n<li>Turn computer notifications <strong>off<\/strong>, limit background noise, and silence anything that rings, hums, or ticks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"upload-later\">Upload Later<\/h2>\n<p>It is possible to choose to save your Kaltura Personal Capture videos locally to your computer and wait to upload them at a later date or time. It&#8217;s always best to ensure you have good internet connectivity when uploading your videos.
