Cette mission avait pour but de faire la lumi\u00e8re sur les violations de droits humains au Chili depuis les soul\u00e8vements populaires d\u2019octobre 2019, et d\u2019interpeller le gouvernement canadien \u00e0 briser le silence \u00e0 ce sujet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apr\u00e8s les pr\u00e9sentations des professeur-e-s Orellana, Doran et Penafiel sur leurs observations sur le terrain, et celle du professeur Gonzalo Bustamante (Universidad Frontera, Chili) sur la situation du peuple Mapuche dans ce contexte, la coordonnatrice pour l\u2019Am\u00e9rique latine de MiningWatch Canada, Kirsten Francescone, commentera sur les liens possibles entre le silence du gouvernement canadien sur la situation au Chili et les investissements miniers et aquatique d\u2019origine canadienne -l\u2019eau ayant \u00e9t\u00e9 privatis\u00e9 au Chili.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EN \/\/ On January 18- 27, professors Marie-Christine Doran (uOttawa) Isabel Orellana (UQAM) and Ricardo Penafiel (UQAM) participated in the \u201cCanadian Human Rights Observation Mission in Chile\u201d, organized by the Collectif qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois de solidarit\u00e9 with this country.
