Co-op students alternate study terms at Carleton with four, eight, 12 or 16-month work terms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"internship-carleton-university-research-experience-for-undergraduate-students-i-cureus\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Internship-Carleton University Research Experience for Undergraduate Students (I-CUREUS)&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Have you ever wanted to conduct research in an area of your interest while getting paid for it? Are you looking for a way to gain hands-on experience to add value to your resume or degree? If yes, then I-CUREUS may be exactly what you\u2019re looking for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/discoverycentre\/funding-opportunities\/icureus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Internship-Carleton University Research Experience for Undergraduate Students<\/a> (I-CUREUS) offers students the opportunity to receive up to $2,250 for faculty-supervised research. Half is funded by the Discovery Centre and half by the faculty supervisor (+ 14% payroll benefits paid by the Discovery Centre and faculty supervisor).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"international-opportunities-and-study-abroad-program\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">International Opportunities and Study Abroad Program<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>LACS students enrolled in the BGinS Honours program are required to meet the <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/bgins\/international-experience\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">mandatory International Experience Requirement (IER)<\/a>, which may include a course abroad, international exchange, international placement, experiential learning abroad, or international group project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For international opportunities available to students to study, intern, research, volunteer visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/isso\/international-opportunities\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">International Student Services Office<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/myexchange\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">My Exchange<\/a> websites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"carleton-university-research-opportunity-curop-undergraduate\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Carleton University Research Opportunity (CUROP) (undergraduate) <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/fpa\/current-students\/carleton-university-research-opportunity-curop-summer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Carleton University Research Opportunity Program (CUROP)<\/a>, the Faculty of Public Affairs &nbsp;hosts summer undergraduate research internships. This is a student-led initiative. In collaboration with a faculty member, each student participant will design their own research project and complete it over the summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students will receive a stipend of $7500 (this sum includes 4% vacation pay and statutory holidays) over the course of the summer. The expectation is that the research project undertaken will constitute a full-time, or near full-time, opportunity during the summer terms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"oas-academic-scholarships-programcall-for-applications-for-undergraduate-studies-2020\" class=\"wp-block-heading title\">OAS Academic Scholarships Program<br>\n<strong>Call for Applications for Undergraduate Studies 2020<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In response to the COVID-19 crisis, the OAS will prioritize scholarship applications for online studies. <strong><br>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>OAS Academic Scholarships for undergraduate studies are awarded for the last two academic years of of a bachelor\u2019s degree to citizens\/residents of an <span class=\"s1\">OAS Member State <\/span>of the English-speaking Caribbean and Suriname.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scholarships are awarded for full-time studies at any university in an OAS Member State, including those participating in the <span class=\"s1\">OAS Consortium of Universities.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scholarships are not awarded to study at universities in the applicant\u2019s sponsoring country.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Study Modality: Onsite, Online or a combination of both. In response to the COVID-19 crisis, the OAS will prioritize scholarship applications for online studies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scholarships are awarded for a minimum period of one (1) academic year and a maximum period of two (2) academic years.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>OAS Scholarship Recipients must agree to return and remain in the sponsoring country for a period of no less than twenty four (24) months after completing the program of study.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scholarship recipients pursuing online studies must agree to remain in the sponsoring country for the same period of time<span class=\"s2\">.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>OAS Scholarships awarded for studies, should be framed within the objectives and priorities <span class=\"s3\">established in the <\/span>Comprehensive Strategic Plan of the Organization.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Academic Program does not award scholarships for studies in the <span class=\"s1\">Medical Sciences <\/span>and the learning of new languages.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>OAS Staff members, OAS Consultants, Staff members of the Permanent Missions to the OAS, and their relatives are eligible to apply for an Academic Scholarship after six months from the termination of their employment relationship or contract.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information about OAS Academic Scholarships for undergraduate studies, please consult <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oas.org\/en\/scholarships\/specaf_2020.asp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">http:\/\/www.oas.org\/en\/scholarships\/specaf_2020.asp<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Co-operative Education Co-operative Education combines traditional, in-class education with hands-on experience.
