LACS is delighted to announce that Professor Sonya Lipsett-Rivera<\/a> has won the 2020 Mar\u00eda Elena Mart\u00ednez Prize in Mexican History for her book  <\/span>The Origins of Macho: Men and Masculinity in Colonial Mexico<\/i> <\/span>(Albuquerque: University of New Mexico Press, 2019).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The prize is awarded by the Conference on Latin American History<\/i><\/a> for the book or article judged to be the most significant work on the history of Mexico published during the previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
