Emily Mastronardi received her Ph.D. with Dr. Maria DeRosa in 2017. She worked on the development of novel DNA aptamers and delivery systems for agricultural applications. She is now an NSERC Visiting Fellow in the Bureau of Microbial Hazards at Health Canada with Dr. Alex Gill, where she is developing DNA aptamers to aid in detection and isolation of verotoxigenic E. coli (VTEC).
