Sylva has been studying historical trauma theory for the past seven years to demonstrate the transgenerational effects of en masse trauma events (e.g., residential schools). Sylva is a <em>Gladue <\/em>writer with the <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/law\/2024\/ottawa-pro-bono-gladue-report-pilot-project\/\">Ottawa Pro Bono <em>Gladue <\/em>Pilot Project<\/a>.
