Your time-ticket indicates when you can first access the registration system. Before your registration time-ticket begins, plan out the courses you need to satisfy your degree requirements. Because requirements for the Major, Minor and Concentration vary by department, please refer to the full description found in the Undergraduate Calendar in the <a href=\"http:\/\/calendar.carleton.ca\/undergrad\/undergradprograms\/\">\u201cPrograms\u201d section<\/a>. It is recommended that you have an alternate course selection list available in the event that some courses are full.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students are assigned time-tickets for registration according to (a)&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/academicadvising\/your-academic-audit\/year-standing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">year standing<\/a>&nbsp;(according to the number of credits completed with passing grades and counting towards the degree; this does&nbsp;not&nbsp;necessarily mean the number of years you have been enrolled&nbsp;at Carleton),&nbsp;and (b)&nbsp;the last two digits of their student number. Once a time-ticket has activated for registration, it will remain active until the last day to register according to the dates listed on the <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/registration\/dates\/\">Dates &amp; Deadlines<\/a>&nbsp;listing. If you are not able to register when your time-ticket activates, do so as soon as you are able.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Please note:<\/strong>&nbsp;the Department of Law and Legal Studies is not able to adjust&nbsp;time-tickets. The first student on the waitlist is notified via email when a space becomes available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">Please note<\/strong>: If the student does not register for the section within 24 hours the next student on the list will be notified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also note:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Joining the waitlist does not guarantee a space in the class.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In order to be able to join a waitlist, you must meet the course prerequisites and restrictions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Students who attempt to register in courses that are full, that don&#8217;t have a wait-list, or that have a full waitlist, and have met the requirements for the course are requested to monitor Carleton Central for space to open up&nbsp;if someone withdraws from the class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">Please note<\/strong>: the Department of Law and Legal Studies does not provide overrides into courses that are full.<\/p>\n\n\n        <\/dd>\n    <\/div>\n\n\n    <\/dl>\n\n\n    <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"w-screen px-6 cu-section cu-section--white ml-offset-center md:px-8 lg:px-14\">\n    <div class=\"space-y-6 cu-max-w-child-5xl  md:space-y-10 cu-prose-first-last\">\n\n        \n    \n    <dl class=\"cu-description cu-component-updated\">\n        \n    <div class=\"grid pt-4 pb-3 border-b accordion border-cu-black-100 md:pt-6 md:pb-5 first:border-t\">\n        <dt class=\"font-semibold not-prose\">\n            <button class=\"flex items-center justify-between w-full text-left accordion__button\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"accordion-registration-error-override-requests\">\n                <span class=\"flex-1 ml-auto text-left break-words whitespace-normal cu-icon\">\n                    Registration Error Override Requests\n                <\/span>\n                <svg xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\" fill=\"none\" viewbox=\"0 0 24 24\" stroke-width=\"1.5\" stroke=\"currentColor\" aria-hidden=\"true\" data-slot=\"icon\" class=\"w-5 h-5 ml-auto transition-transform rotate-0 accordion__icon text-cu-black-500\">\n                    <path stroke-linecap=\"round\" stroke-linejoin=\"round\" d=\"M8.25 4.5l7.5 7.5-7.5 7.5\"><\/path>\n                <\/svg>\n            <\/button>\n        <\/dt>\n        <dd class=\"p-0 mt-0 cu-prose cu-prose-first-last accordion__content md:p-0 md:mt-0\" hidden=\"\" id=\"accordion-registration-error-override-requests\">\n            \n\n<p>Students seeking permission to register in a course for which they lack the prerequisites or year-standing may submit a request on-line via the &#8220;Registration Error Override Request&#8221; feature on the &#8220;Add or Drop Classes&#8221; page on <a href=\"http:\/\/central.carleton.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Carleton Central<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Access to the &#8220;Registration Error Override Request&#8221; is based on your registration time-ticket. Please note that submitting a request does not guarantee space in courses. You may only submit one request per course. If you have non-Carleton equivalents for prerequisite courses you will be required to provide supporting documentation (i.e., transcripts and\/or course descriptions for evaluation purposes).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Requests to be assigned to specific course sections and\/or discussion groups will be granted if possible. Requests may be denied due to capacity limitations. Space&nbsp;will not be provided to courses that are full. If your request for a specific discussion group cannot be granted you may be assigned to a different group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Until all time-tickets have activated, year standing override requests will not be processed for third and fourth-year LAWS courses. After all students have had a chance to register, the department will begin to process year-standing override requests for third and fourth year courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">Important<\/strong>:\u00a0Please do not contact the department or the instructor of the course for updates on the status of your request. This unofficial document will aid you in making choices regarding course selection for upcoming registrations and will let you check to see how you are progressing towards graduation. While the University makes every effort to make your Degree Audit Report as accurate as possible, it is your responsibility to review your Degree Audit Report carefully to ensure you satisfy published requirements using the University\u2019s Undergraduate Calendar. The Honours Paper is evaluated by both the supervisor and a second reader.
