Her presentation is entitled, &#8220;<strong>The Transatlantic Flow of Data and the National Security Exception: In Search of Legal Protection Against Surveillance<\/strong>&#8220;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"userContent\">Europeans regulate data privacy against violations coming from the private sector more strictly than in the U.S. This paper analyses these existing protections through the Safe Harbor Agreement and the New European Regulation. It suggests ways of interpreting the national security exception in a way as to narrow its scope in reference to standards posed by the European Court of Human Rights in Europe and the International Convenant on Civil and Political Rights.
