\n In Memoriam: Madison Crich\n <\/h1>\n \n \n <\/header>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n

The Department of Law and Legal Studies is saddened to learn of the sudden passing of Madison Crich<\/strong>, an alumna of the B.A. Law program. Upon her graduation<\/a> from Carleton in June 2013, Madison was awarded a Senate Medal for Outstanding Academic Achievement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Madison was an exceptional student and teaching assistant to Prof. Jane Dickson in LAWS 1000. Another of her professors, Amy Bartholomew, remembers Madison as “an extraordinary student”:<\/p>\n\n\n

After having had her as a student in several undergraduate courses,  I invited Madison into my Ph.D. seminar when she was still an undergraduate and she excelled.  In addition to being a scholar, Madison was a highly accomplished equestrian in dressage. She was a lovely, funny, and engaging young woman. We will all miss her deeply.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Prof. Rueban Balasubramaniam also remembers Madison as “an exemplary student, driven by intellectual curiosity, rigour, and the desire for the truth. As well, she was always congenial to be around, always smiling even when under great stress. Her passing is a terrible loss.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Madison had recently completed her first year in the Faculty of Law at Queen’s University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A celebration of life will be held for Madison later this week.  More details on the visitation (Thursday evening) and the service (Friday morning) can be found at tubmanfuneralhomes.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
