The event includes a speech from Terri-Jean Bedford, the woman who took Canada\u2019s prostitution laws to the Supreme Court of Canada for violating the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mrs. Bedford will discuss the legal process of bringing the Canadian government to court, her experiences as a sex worker, and the difficulties with Canada\u2019s previous and new prostitution laws. In doing this, she will raise awareness about the complexities around the issue of sex work and its current legal status in Canada and initiate thought provoking discussion among students regarding these important issues.
