In 1967, the Department of Law and Legal Studies emerged as the first unit in Canada to study law within an interdisciplinary context. Since then, it has grown to offer the largest and most extensive undergraduate and graduate programs in legal studies in the country.&nbsp;The anniversary launch reception was held on campus with department staff, faculty, contract instructors, students, alumni, and esteemed guests gathering to pay tribute to fifty years of excellence and innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As guests mingled, the Carleton University Law and Legal Studies Society (CULLSS) released its latest issue of the <em>Carleton University Journal of Legal Studies<\/em>. President Roseann O\u2019Reilly Runte was also in attendance to reflect on the department\u2019s achievements with a few opening remarks.
