\n MA in Student wins Data Day 9.0 John ApSimon Prize for Data Science (Top Overall Poster)\n <\/h1>\n \n \n <\/header>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n

We are pleased to share that Brooke Sullivan, one of our M.A. students, has won the inaugural John ApSimon Prize for Data Science (Top Overall Poster)<\/strong> as part of her work in the COMS5225 Critical Data Studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brooke’s poster was entered into the Data Day 9.0 Competition (https:\/\/science.carleton.ca\/data-day\/<\/a>). The title is Policing Racism: An Intersectional Strategy to Race-Based Data Collection<\/em><\/strong> and the work was done in collaboration with this year\u2019s class community partners the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) Data Analytics Unit.
