Matea also participated in CUROP this past summer, which is a summer research internship for&nbsp;students offered here at Carleton. Matea also completed the Honours Research Essay for credit during her final year at Carleton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On October 1st for the FPGA Showcase, Matea presented the the research project she developed as part of the CUROP program this past summer.&nbsp; The project is titled, <em>\u201cBridging the Gap: Enhancing Inclusion for Autistic Students in Ontario&#8217;s Mainstream Elementary Classrooms\u201d,<\/em> and it examined whether proposed new legal standards for enhancing accessibility to elementary education disabled students (through the Ontario AODA) are sufficient to meet the needs of Autistic students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Matea is now off to Law School at McGill University for the next step in her journey.
