They are also both self-proclaimed Taylor Swift fans, also known as &#8220;Swifties.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So when an opportunity came up to run a week long mini course for local grade 8 students, the topic was a no-brainer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While one may think of excessive amounts of glitter, expensive concert tickets and boyfriend drama when thinking of Taylor Swift, the pop princess has had a few brushes with the law, and the legal system in general throughout her stardom. Taylor&#8217;s popularity around the world, especially with the pre-teen age group makes this a perfect way to give future students an insight into the study of law at the post-secondary level. <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"not-prose cu-quote cu-component-spacing\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-style-quote-graphic is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em class=\"myprefix-text-italic\">&#8220;Between the two of us, we figured we could create a fun course for students to learn about law in a fun and dynamic way through real world life examples&#8221; &#8211; <\/em>Andrea<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>A variety of topics were covered throughout the week that connects to various areas of law including copyright issues, record label disputes, fraud concert ticket sales and more!<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"not-prose cu-quote cu-component-spacing\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-style-quote-graphic is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em class=\"myprefix-text-italic\">&#8220;Studying law is very interdisciplinary and it\u2019s very applicable to the real world.&#8221; <\/em>-Abi<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>This is just one of the many creative ways that shows our department&#8217;s interdisciplinary approach to Law and Legal Studies.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"not-prose cu-quote cu-component-spacing\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-style-quote-graphic is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;<em class=\"myprefix-text-italic\">Be creative!
