Since its establishment in 1941, the Foundation has played a major role in advancing anthropology as a global discipline with the mission of fostering comparative, cross-cultural, and historically grounded understandings of humanity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ash&#8217;s research follows street-corner dice games in Bah\u00eda de Banderas, Nayarit, Mexico, to understand how people experience law when everyday practices are technically prohibited but socially tolerated.
