Revealing the mysteries of language and the brain<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our brains handle a staggering amount of linguistic input extremely quickly. This session examines 1) how different types of linguistic information are processed, 2) how the language processing mechanisms are constrained by social and neurocognitive factors and 3) how these mechanisms develop in the early years of life.<\/p>\n

Dr. Masako Hirotani is an associate professor of Linguistics and Cognitive Science at Carleton University. She is the founder and director of Carleton\u2019s Language and Brain Laboratory.<\/p>\n
