The Office of Quality Initiatives and Human Resources are pleased to co-host the next Management Mornings. As with all management mornings sessions, the overall aim is to provide a virtual space for you to gather in real time to share insights, effective practices, and consider ways to overcome challenges.

Topic: Defining Challenges to Align with Effective Solutions

Description: This session brings together leadership and management development, as a joint Carleton Leader Community and Management Mornings event. During our time together, we will examine the importance of understanding the nature of the challenges we experience and choosing aligned approaches to management and leadership challenges we experience. Engaging with (or revisiting) Keith Grint’s framing of Tame, Urgent, and Wicked Problems, you will have a chance to consider current challenges and gain insight into compatible, practical approaches to addressing these. When do you need to rely on more directive approaches, when do you need to lean on your management skills, and when might you want to consider how to engage the collective people around you through a leadership lens? Join us to have an opportunity to engage in reflective practice that will allow you to align your challenges with the most effective paths to solutions.
