Contract\/Memorandum of Agreement (“MOU”) drafting and review:<\/strong> Ensuring agreements with vendors, researchers, and partners are legally sound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Governance support:<\/strong> Advising boards, senates, and senior leadership on bylaws, policies, and procedures. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Employment and labour law:<\/strong> Supporting HR with hiring, discipline, collective agreements, and workplace disputes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Intellectual property:<\/strong> Advising on ownership, licensing, and protecting of research and create works. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Litigation and dispute resolutions: <\/strong>Managing legal claims, complaints, and coordinating with external counsel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Legal compliance and legal risks management:<\/strong> Ensuring projects, events and contests comply with relevant laws and regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Privacy compliance:<\/strong> Ensuring adherence to laws like FIPPA or PHIPA in data collection and handling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Access to information:<\/strong> Managing requests under freedom of information legislation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Privacy breach response:<\/strong> Investigating and mitigating incidents involving personal data. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Training and awareness:<\/strong> Educating staff and faculty on privacy best practices and legal responsibilities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
