We are more interested in the lesser-known Leonardo than the well-known individual who made great inventions and engineering marvels. In particular, we are seeking contributions of any kind from colleagues and interested parties in the areas of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Culinary science<\/strong> (e.g., Leonardo had various recipes, invented a prototype of an icebox, pressure cooker, etc.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Dramatic arts<\/strong> (e.g., Leonardo designed sets for theatrical presentations and invented a revolving stage)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Astronomy<\/strong> (a talk on his astronomical contributions is needed!)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Psychology<\/strong> (e.g., Freud wrote a whole book analyzing Leonardo\u2019s psyche)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Gender Studies<\/strong> (e.g., Sexuality and Leonardo)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Geography<\/strong> (e.g., redesigning the flow of rivers through cities)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Geology<\/strong> (e.g., realizing that shells and fish bones appearing in caves high above land were once submerged in water)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Health Sciences<\/strong> (e.g., his influential anatomical drawings, studies in physiology)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Art<\/strong> (e.g., his paintings, drawings, sketches, \u2026)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Architecture<\/strong> (e.g., design of various churches)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Music<\/strong> (e.g., invention of a string organ)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sculptures<\/strong> (e.g., his never realized famous bronze horse for Sforza)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Botany<\/strong> (e.g., his botanical sketches)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Physics<\/strong> (e.g., his ideas about light and its effects)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cartography<\/strong> (e.g., his extremely accurate maps of some locations)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Mathematics<\/strong> (e.g., his persistent interest in the classical Greek problems)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>And many, many other fields of endeavour!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For further information, please contact Angelo Mingarelli (Chair, Leonardo 2019) at <a href=\"mailto:leonardo2019@carleton.ca\">leonardo2019@carleton.ca<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We ask you to share your knowledge with us by attempting to answer the question: How does Leonardo enter your discipline?
