LERRN is pleased to share the following information from our partner organization, the Centre for Refugee Studies (CRS) at York University:
The Centre for Refugee Studies annual Summer Course will take place from 05 June to 09 June 2023 in Toronto, Canada.
The summer course is an internationally acclaimed, non-credit professional development course that provides an interdisciplinary, interactive and experiential approach to studying forced migration and refugee issues. It embraces a comparative global approach that exposes participants to the different perspectives of scholars and field-based specialists from Canada and abroad, presents highlights from research and practical work in different regions, including North and South America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia, and involves a blend of well-respected academics and practitioners with an excellent national and international record of accomplishment of research, policy engagement and publications.
Through attending lectures and related small group sessions, course participants develop a deepened understanding of the political, economic, social and cultural contexts of forced migration and the central state and non-state institutions involved in refugee protection and advocacy, in addition to structured networking and idea collaboration opportunities.
All participants who complete the full course receive a York University Centre for Refugee Studies Summer Course Certificate.
