Mark Okello Oyat<\/strong> is a Ugandan refugee residing in Dadaab, Kenya. He is the director of a community-based research organization, <\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>Dadaab Response Association<\/a> (DRA),<\/span>\u00a0that positions Mark and his team as refugee scholars in encampment. Some of their work\u00a0<\/span>on refugee education has been<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>published in\u00a0<\/span><\/span>LERRN\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>W<\/span>orking\u00a0<\/span>P<\/span>aper\u00a0<\/span>S<\/span>eries<\/span><\/span><\/a>, such as Mark’s Working Paper \u201cInvestigating Corporal Punishment in Refugee Secondary Schools in Dadaab, Kenya<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mark is a graduate of the Master of Education and a research-based study in Language, Culture and Teaching, from York University through the Borderless Higher Education for Refugees (BHER) Project<\/a> in 2020. He had a Bachelor of Arts at the same University and passed with the highest honour, Summa Cum Laude.<\/p>\n
