The author of an award-winning book,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucpress.edu\/book\/9780520291997\/the-twilight-of-cutting\"><em>The Twilight of Cutting: African Activism and Life after NGOs<\/em><\/a>, she studies questions of asylum, refuge, and humanitarianism in transnational perspective, as well as the nexus of militarization, industrial toxicity, and activism in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
