We are a team of researchers and practitioners committed to promoting protection and solutions with and for refugees. Our goal is to ensure that refugee research, policy and practice are shaped by a more inclusive, equitable and informed collective engagement of civil society. Through collaborative research, training, and knowledge-sharing, we aim to improve the functioning of the global refugee regime and ensure more timely protection and rights-based solutions for refugees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\">Our work is focused in the global South, which hosts 85% of the world\u2019s refugees, and responds to the needs and opportunities identified by our partners in major refugee-hosting countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"cu-section cu-section--white w-screen ml-offset-center px-4 md:px-6 lg:px-12\"><div class=\"cu-max-w-child-5xl space-y-6 md:space-y-10   cu-prose-first-last\"><figure class=\"cu-figure not-prose  max-w-full\"><div class=\"not-prose overflow-hidden bg-white shadow-lg max-w-full rounded-none\"><div class=\"relative none overflow-hidden w-full pb-[56.25%] border border-cu-black-100\"><iframe title=\"Videos Embed\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/nirx9ME1uEg\" class=\"cu-embed-iframe\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div><\/div><\/figure><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\">We are generously supported by a Partnership Grant from the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sshrc-crsh.gc.ca\/\"><span class=\"s1\">Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council<\/span><\/a>&nbsp;of Canada, along with many contributions from our partner organizations. Our Partnership Secretariat is based at Carleton University, with our programs developed and implemented by <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/lerrn\/geographic-working-groups\/\"><span class=\"s1\">Geographic Working Groups<\/span><\/a> in Jordan, Kenya, Lebanon and Tanzania, along with <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/lerrn\/working-groups\/\"><span class=\"s1\">Thematic Working Groups<\/span><\/a> focusing on Protection, Solutions, and Diversity\/Intersectionality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\">The project officially launched in October 2018, following a three-year process of dialogue and collaboration between the research and practitioner communities. The&nbsp;project is expected to run until December 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-content-justification-center is-layout-flex wp-container-core-buttons-is-layout-16018d1d wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/lerrn\/lerrn-partners\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">View 2018-2025 LERRN Partners<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"x_MsoNoSpacing\"><span lang=\"EN-US\"><strong>Our Partnership:<\/strong><br>\nLERRN aims to better understand and enhance the role of civil society in responding to the needs of refugees in the global south. Civil society plays a large role in developing innovative responses to refugee situations and has the power to be a driver of change within political communities.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"x_MsoNoSpacing\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">The Partnership\u2019s goal is to enhance the understandings of the global refugee regime and empower society to directly contribute to the improved function of the regime, thereby ensuring more predictable protection and solutions for refugees and enhancing their lived experience.
